Newlin Township has enacted, by Ordinance, a Sewage Management Program (SMP) in the Township. The purpose of this SMP is to ensure the long-term maintenance of on-lot sewage disposal systems (OLDS). The primary component of this SMP is to have every OLDS pumped at least once during a 3-year window. The 3-year maximum frequency is what is recommended by the Chester County Health Department (CCHD), Penn State and the Pennsylvania DEP; this frequency has been adopted by many other municipalities in Chester County.
The owner of a building served by an on-lot sewage system shall have their system pumped by a qualified pumper/hauler on or before September 1, 2017 and on or before September 1st of each 3rd year thereafter.
CCHD will notify the Township once the registered pumper inputs the data into the County system
Please see list of the County-certified haulers that have registered with Newlin Township below.
